Lucas Now At Five Schools

Ricky Lucas, a 6-5, 195 shooting guard from Herndon, VA, has narrowed his list of schools to five teams. They are George Washington, Penn State, Kent State, DePaul and Rutgers.
He's working out dates for visits to Rutgers and George Washington. Other schools recruiting Lucas included Connecticut, George Mason, Hofstra, North Carolina State, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Towson, Virginia Tech and Yale.

Lucas averaged 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal per game this past season at Maryland's Montrose Christian program. He's going to finish his prep career at the hometown school, Herndon High School. "I made the change because I think I can be a better player in a different program," he said.
Herndon should have a strong team this season. "We have a shooting guard who can score and a 6-5 point guard," Lucas said. He'll play the wing forward this season for the Horrnets but will be at shooting guard with the Fairfax Stars. He was named to the all-star team at the Big Time Tournament. The next event is the Charlie Weber Invitational in early October on the campus of the national champions, Maryland.
RivalsHoops.com's number 95 player in the class of 2003 is also a good student. He has a 3.4 GPA and scored 1080 on the SAT.
He mentioned a few of the things that will be important to him when he makes a decision on his future school: academics; an opportunity to play and make an impact; and, that his parents will be able to see him compete during the season.
