Lucas Makes Decision

The third and possibly final starter to transfer from Baylor has been announced. Point guard, John Lucas III, 5-foot-11, has decided to depart, and will continue his college basketball career within the Big 12.
Lucas will transfer to Oklahoma State and came to his decision after a visit to the Stillwater campus this past weekend. He had another visit scheduled to Rutgers this upcoming weekend but it has since been canceled.

"I fell in love with the place," Lucas told the Houston Chronicle. "Everybody here bleeds orange, it's just a special atmosphere. There is so much fan support."
Lucas will be able to play immediately for the Cowboys. The Big 12 ruled over the weekend that Lucas would be eligible immediately if he were to transfer within the conference. He will also maintain two years left of eligibility (the Big 12 rule was that an inter-conference transfer lost a year of eligibility).
With the graduation of Victor Williams and the departure of Cheyne Gadson, Lucas should step right in as the starting point guard along side Tony Allen. He will enroll at the school immediately.
Lucas' transfer should be the last of the departures from Baylor - earlier Tyrone Nelson (Prairie View A&M), Lawrence Roberts (Mississippi State), and Kenny Taylor, Texas) had left. The remaining returnees and signees on the Baylor roster have committed to play for new head coach Scott Drew.
