LSU Picks Up Home-State Guard

Lousiana State has received a verbal commitment from 6-2, 170 shooting guard Tony Gipson of Panola College in Carthage Texas, the Baton Rouge Advocate reported Tuesday.
Gipson prepped at Farmerville (LA) High School where he averaged 29 points per game as a senior during the 1999-2000 season. He's averaging 25 points per game so far this this season, his first year of junior college ball. He was redshirted last year and therefore, will have three years of eligibility at the SEC school.

Gipson chose LSU over Auburn and Colorado State. His brother, Teddy, is a junior guard at SEC-rival Arkansas.
