LSU lands second four-star in Rachal

For the second time in the class of 2017, LSU has convinced a four-star wing to stay home and play for the state school.

Shooting guard Brandon Rachal of Nachitoches (La.) Central announced that he will play for Johnny Jones and the Tigers on Wednesday afternoon.

"He picked LSU because they will allow him to play the one through three and compete for playing time early within his career," Rachal's summer coach Clea Williams of Elfrid Payton Elite told Rivals.com. "He also built a great bond with the entire coaching staff, current players and potential future teammates."

One of the best defensive players in the class of 2017, Rachal has a motor that doesn't stop and plus athleticism. In college, he's counting on that defensive prowess to get him on the floor early in Baton Rouge.

"Brandon will be a great combo guard at the high-major level," said Williams. "His aggressive on-ball defensive skills will allow him to maximize his minutes early because he can guard the one through the three easily. He has great footwork and ball skills, and is an excellent team player and finisher."

Rachal joins fellow Louisiana native Galen Alexander in LSU's recruiting class. A 6-foot-6 small forward, Alexander ranks No. 99 overall.
