LSU gets their man

LSU targeted in-state product Malik Morgan early in the process, and their effort paid off on Wednesday night.
Morgan, a four-star prospect out of River Ridge (La.) John Curts High School, becomes the Tigers' first 2012 commitment.

"It just felt like family … it felt like home," Morgan told TigerBait.com. "I've always loved playing basketball in my own backyard and this way my family can come and see me play."
A 6-foot-3 lefty shooting guard, Morgan had a productive summer with the Louisiana Dynasty. He is an accurate long distance shooter, a crafty penetrator and also a dangerous post up player.
Morgan, who had only visited LSU, also was considering being Boston College, Georgia Tech, Missouri and Oklahoma. But beyond proximity, these schools didn't have much of a chance with Morgan because of family ties to LSU.
"LSU had my heart since birth," Morgan told Rivals.com. "My mom graduated from LSU and played volleyball there. I've always been a LSU fan."
He is currently the No. 93 ranked prospect in the Rivals150.
