Lowry: Two Other Schools Make Run

Kyle Lowry, the spunky 6-foot-0, 180-pound point guard from Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia, Penn., said that Virginia Tech and Florida State are also making serious pitches this summer to land him.
"My list is changeable, Virginia Tech and Florida State are trying to get in, but I don't know yet," Lowry said. "Of course, if a school gets a point guard, then it knocks them out and makes my choice easier."

Lowry said that he's seriously considering five colleges, four of whom have tendered offers. UConn, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Xavier have offered Lowry, while Kansas is the fifth finalist on his list.
Thus far, Lowry has only taken a visit to one of the schools on his list -- Xavier. "Xavier made a great impression when I went on my unofficial visit," he said.
Lowry then took a moment to comment on each of the other finalists on his list:
On UConn: "I haven't visited up there, so I don't know what to expect. It's a great playing style, they play up and down."
On Syracuse: "Boeheim lets his guards play. MacNamara hit all of those three pointers in the first half. That's all you can say."
On Pittsburgh: "Pitt is a new, up and coming program. They just won the Big East Championship. So they are getting players. But I am not sure on the style of play. Jamie Dixon is a new coach, so I don't know yet."
On Kansas: "Bill Self -- he let Dee Brown play. Up and down. Illinois, Bill Self -- they were a great up and down team."
Lowry doesn't seem to be in any kind of hurry to make a decision. In fact, he plans on taking all of his visits in the fall and then announcing his decision around signing day in November.
"I will take most of my visits in September and October," he said. "I haven't set up any visits yet."
