Lowry Has Top Six

If you want to watch an exciting scoring point guard this summer on the AAU circuit, look no further than Kyle Lowry. The lead guard from Philadelphia can dart past you to the basket or pull up to take the jumper. He scores points in bunches and it's the main reason why so many schools are recruiting him hard.
"I want to improve my jumpshooting this summer," said Lowry, who may opt out of any early summer camps in July to help push his GPA up at school. "If I don't go to camp, I will probably play in Vegas (for the Big Time tournament."

Lowry, 5-foot-11 and 182-pounds, will be at this week's NBA players camp in Richmond, Virginia. This site will have complete coverage. "I am wide open," Lowry said regarding his recruiting process. "Kansas, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Connecticut, UCLA, and Xavier are my top schools."
Lowry said he doesn't have a leader. "I just took the SAT so when I get my score back I will decide where I take my visits," Lowry said. "I probably won't take them until the Fall."
Kyle said each school is equal. "I don't have a leader," Lowry said. "I have to see the schools first."
Lowry pointed out a strong point for each school:
On Kansas: "Bill Self did a great job in Illinois. I liked the style they played there. Kansas sells out its game and has a winning tradition and got to the Final Four recently."
On Syracuse: "They won a National Championship. Coach Boeheim (Jim) has a lot of experience. It looks like it would be a lot of fun to play under coach Boeheim."
On Pittsburgh: "I was being recruited there until the coaching change. They have a new assistant there. Coach Lombardi I like a lot. I have to learn more about them."
On Connecticut: "Coach Calhoun has been doing it a long time winning games there. I like the style of play. And when Ben Gordon and Taliek Brown leave there will be plenty of playing time."
On UCLA: "Coach Howland was recruiting me while I was at Pittsburgh. I like him. He did a great job there. But I have to learn more about the school."
On Xavier: "I like the coaching staff a lot. I have a good relationship with them. Plus, they have won their conference recently a couple of times. They have a good winning tradition."
