Louisville lands talented transfer Steven Enoch

Despite suffering through a rather melancholy sophomore season at UConn, there was no shortage of high-major suitors of Steven Enoch this spring. Deciding to transfer from the AAC program, the former top-100 recruit took an official visit to Louisville this past weekend; today, he committed to Rick Pitino’s program.

A 6-foot-9 power forward that is built more in your skilled, face-up variety, Enoch was unable to find his footing at UConn, a program that he had grown up cheering for. After hearing overtures from Seton Hall, Minnesota, Northeastern and Rutgers, Enoch felt at home with the system in Louisville, a set-up that he should excel at.

Ranked number-56 overall within the 2015 class, Enoch jumped onto the scene and in a quick fashion during his senior summer. Averaging less than four points and three rebounds during his sophomore year in Storrs, Enoch heads to Louisville, a place that has become known for using its big men out of the high post setting in more big men oriented lineups.

In hopes of replacing Anas Mahmoud, a potential NBA Draft pick next June, Enoch joins a tremendously talented class that will be eligible come 2018, a group also including four star junior guards Courtney Ramey and Anfernee Simons.

Enoch will enroll at Louisville this summer, sit out the 2017-2018 college basketball season, and then restart his eligibility for his junior campaign a year from now.
