Lorenzo Wade Has Favorite

As he is moving toward a decision on a college this fall, Lorenzo Wade realizes this: whatever school he picks, he will essentially be a member of the high school Class of 2004.
Wade, a smooth 6-4, 183 pound senior guard/forward from Cheyenne H.S. in Las Vegas, Nev., told Rivalshoops.com that he will definitely be spending the 2003-2004 school campaign at a prep school on the East Coast.

This summer, Rivalshoops.com explained that Wade might be headed to a prep school next year in order to boost his academic credentials. So while he will pick a school this fall and sign in November, he is going to follow through with a prep year.
This past weekend, Wade took his second official visit to the University of Tennessee, and the Vols have zoomed to the top of his choices at this time.
"I like Tennessee at this point," Wade said. "C.J. [Watson] is down there, and I felt real comfortable there."
"Coach Peterson is a real cool guy, and the staff there relates well to the players," he continued. "I am going to make a fall decision, sometime within the next two to three weeks."
Wade took his first official visit to Arizona State the weekend of Sept. 6-8, and he will take what he expects to be his final official visit to Texas A&M from Oct. 4-6. The two other finalists on his list are Marquette and Utah. The Utes are coming in Wade's home on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Previously, Wade listed schools such as Nevada-Reno, Boston College, Oregon, USC and Washington, but he told us on Monday that he's no longer considering those programs.
As for prep school, Wade said that Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia and Worcester Academy in Massachusetts are two strong possibilities.
Although he doesn't receive the publicity that other players have in the Class of 2003, Wade is one of the top 50 senior prospects in the country. He has a very polished and smooth floor game and can swing between two or three different positions.
We will keep you posted on Wade's decision and future plans in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.
