Lopez Twins Have a Favorite

After a very strong summer, including dominating performances at the adidas Super 64 while leading the EBO AAU squad to the championship, twins Brook Lopez and Robin Lopez have top programs throughout the country seeking their services. The twins from San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno, Calif., have yet to narrow their list, but they do have a favorite.
"They are interested in Stanford, USC, UCLA, Duke, UConn, Kansas, Kentucky, and Georgetown,” said their mother Deborah Ledford, a Stanford graduate. “I’d say that Stanford is their leader right now.

"Stanford has been in to watch them. Washington was here Wednesday, Oregon came last week, and USC will be here Thursday."
Both of the twins measure at 6-foot-11, 200-pounds, yet Brook is a power forward with a strong face up game while Robin a more of a back to the basket center prospect. Both Brook and Robin will be watching the offenses of the schools on their list to see how many touches their big men get.
"They want to look for a place where they play team ball,” said Mrs. Ledford. “A place where they willing and capable of getting the ball to the big men."
Brook and Robin Lopez are working hard to improve both their athletic ability and skill level.
"They’re working on their jumping,” said Mrs. Ledford. “They have been doing a lot of jumping exercises to increase their vertical leap. They are also working a lot on their shooting and their footwork. They both are trying to get stronger. I think the weight will come naturally."
Brook Lopez is the No. 10 ranked player in the class of 2006, and Robin Lopez is the No. 26 ranked player in the class of 2006.
