Longhorns nab four-star wing

It didn't take long after the July evaluation period for Jordan Barnett to decide he was ready to end things.
A 6-foot-7 small forward from St. Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers College, Barnett pulled the trigger on a commitment to Rick Barnes and the Texas Longhorns.

Playing for the St. Louis Eagles summer program, Barnett has made his way up to No. 85 in the 2014 Rivals150 and has been a primary target for the Longhorns.
What the Horns and pretty much anybody who sees Barnett play likes the most is his athleticism. Barnett has great size and length for a wing, but when coupled with his quickness off the floor and explosiveness he usually has an advantage.
From a pure talent standpoint, Barnett has the tools to outplay his current ranking. His shooting has been streaky from deep but it is improving and he is a very capable rebounder.
To unlock his full potential, Barnett will need to continue to improve his shooting and most of all be more consistent. When his motor is running high, he is very productive and the Longhorns are counting on being able to get that consistent effort out of him.
Barnett is the Longhorns first hoops commitment from the class of 2014.
