Longar Longar, a bouncy 6'10'' 210 pound shot-blocker from Rochester High School in Rochester, Minnesota, will host Minnesota and Oklahoma for in-school visits this week, according to his AAU coach with Team Minnesota, Ryan Thornton.
Longar may also host Fresno State for an in-school visit later this month.
Longar likely caught the eye of the Sooner staff playing alongside Oklahoma pledge Lawrence McKenzie on the AAU circuit. The native of Mali burst upon the scene this summer at the Nike Camp, proving himself to be an able shot-blocker. Longar still needs to get stronger and his offensive game still needs plenty of polish, but his defensive capabilities caught the eye of some major conference programs, as evidenced by these recent developments.
Longar may have to apply for an ACT waiver, as he is still getting a grip on the English language.
We'll keep you abreast of Longar's recruitment as it continues to develop.
