“Football is going real well,” said the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Lofton. “We are in the second round of the state playoffs, and I am the leading receiver in the state.”
So is Lofton now receiving interest as a football player?
“I was getting recruited, until I told them I was just going to play basketball,” he said. “I just like it a lot better.”
Because of his commitment to football this fall, Lofton will definitely wait to make a commitment and sign in the spring.
“Since I have been playing football, I haven’t had any time to take visits,” he said. “I will just wait till the spring.”
Lofton listed Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Clemson, and Georgia as schools he likes that are showing interest in him. Two of these schools standout to Lofton.
“Notre Dame and Oklahoma are at the top,” he said. “I like the coaches and the direction of the programs. Oklahoma was in the Final Four last year, and Notre Dame was in the Sweet Sixteen.”
