Lockett picks up high-major offer

2009 four-star prospect Trent Lockett picked up his first high-major offer after an unofficial visit Iowa State. Lockett, a 6-foot-5, 195-pound shooting guard from Minnetonka (Minn.) Hopkins High School, will likely visit a couple other schools this fall.
At the top of the priority list for visits are Arizona State and Colorado State according to Lockett's travel team coach Marquise Watts of Net Gain Sports.

"Trent was offered on his unofficial visit to Iowa State," said Watts. "We also want to get down to Arizona State and Colorado State. All three of these schools and Minnesota have watched Trent this fall. Arizona State hasn't offered yet, but Coach Sendek is headed up here on Tuesday."
Watts noted that both Arizona and Michigan assistants have called recently and are wanting to recruit Lockett.
It is early in the recruiting process for Lockett, but a couple conferences do standout for Lockett.
"He's liking the idea of playing in the Big 12 or Pac-10," said Watts. "It's sort of strange because the conferences do have contrasting styles. Trent probably fits the Pac-10 style best. He's a big guard, who might even grow a couple more inches, and he loves to shoot threes and has a great mid-range game. He slashes and is slippery. Once he elevates on his jumper, it's over. His jumper is very hard to contest."
Lockett is the No. 98 ranked prospect in the class of 2009.
