Livingston Schedules Visit To UNC

Shaun Livingston spent a great deal of time as the No. 1 player on the Rivals150 list, so its no surprise that just about every major program is American is interested in his services. The 6-foot-7, 170-pound point guard from Peoria Central High School in Peoria, IL., has scheduled his second official visit of the year. He will be in Chapel Hill during the first weekend of September, as Coach Roy Williams is making a late push to land the talented floor general.
“I will be visiting North Carolina on the weekend of September 5th,” Livingston said. “I’m excited about my visit to North Carolina. They are one of my top four schools, so it is a program that I am very interested in.

“The scholarship situation is something I can’t really talk about right now,” he added. “I would say that there is probably one on line for me, but its something I just can’t talk about.”
It is quite obvious that Coach Williams has something planned, but nobody knows exactly what those plans are. He has one scholarship remaining for the class of 2004, but he has already extended offers to players like J.R Smith and Brian Johnson.
Livingston is already scheduled a visit to Arizona during the weekend of Midnight Madness. He is also planning visits to Duke and Illinois, but no dates have been set for those trips.
“I really don’t know when I will officially visit Duke and Illinois, but I plan on visiting those two schools,” Livingston said. “As far as a commitment goes, I should have a decision before the start of my senior year.”
There has been a great deal of talk about Livingston making the jump straight to the NBA once his high school days are over, but that is not something he’s worried about at this time. His main focus is finishing his high school career and then preparing for college.
“Right now I plan on attending college and that is my main focus,” he said. “If the NBA is very interested in me once I’ve finished my senior, that’s something I will think about, but it’s not something I’m focused on right now.”
Rivals.com ranks Livingston No. 3 on the Rivals150 list and the No.1 point guard in the class of 2004.
