Livingston Schedules Another Visit

You can now add Duke to the list of schools that Shaun Livingston will visit. The 6-foot-7, 170-pound point guard from Peoria Central High School in Peoria, IL., will officially visit the Duke campus during the weekend of September 19. The No. 1 floor general in the class of 2004 has also scheduled visits to Arizona and North Carolina. It’s likely that the will visit Illinois a few weeks before his visit to Tucson.
“Yea, I’ve scheduled an official visit to Duke,” Livingston said. “I believe the visit will take place on September 19. I feel like I’m the top target for the Duke coaching staff, but I hope all the teams recruiting me have me near the top of their list.

“I really like Duke because of Coach Krzyzewski and the entire coaching staff,” he added. “The atmosphere is great and their style of play is another reason I’m giving them a serious look.”
There was a time when Duke was considered the overwhelming favorite, but that is no longer the case. The Blue Devils have a great shot at landing Livingston, but they’ve got a real battle on their hands.
“I really don’t have a favorite school right now,” Livingston said. “Arizona, Duke, Illinois and North Carolina are on equal ground right now. I really like Arizona because of Coach Olson, the style of play and the location of the school. It’s just a great place.
“Illinois is a great school because it’s close to home and I have friends that attend the school,” he added. “I’ve also built a good relationship with some of the assistant coaches.
“I’m pretty familiar with the North Carolina campus, so that is one of the reasons I like them,” he added. “The overall tradition of the program is great and Coach Williams is just an awesome coach.”
If Livingston does happen to have a favorite, he isn’t letting the cat out of the bag. One thing is certain, Livingston will have a difficult decision to make when that time comes.
“Everything is going good for me right now,” he said. “It looks like I will take an official visit to Illinois a few weeks before my visit to Arizona. Once my visits are complete, I will probably make a commitment before the start of my basketball season.”
Rivals.com ranks Livingston No. 3 on the Rivals150 list and the best point guard in the class of 2004.
