Livingston in Arizona This Weekend

The recruitment of Shaun Livingston is winding down. The nation’s top player maker is headed to the desert this weekend as he makes his third official visit to the University of Arizona. The 6-foot-7 point guard has been in the middle of an intense recruiting battle since the summer season ended and he’ll end the suspense in the coming weeks.
Livingston will take part in the Wildcats’ first practice of the season on Saturday but UA fans are anticipating his time at McKale Center on Friday afternoon. The Peoria, Ill. product will be playing against Wildcat recruit Jawan McClellan in a pick up game.

Arizona has a history of producing big time guards – Jason Terry, Miles Simon, Mike Bibby, Jason Gardner and current players Salim Stoudamire and freshman Mustafa Shakur. Livingston has said in the past that he respects the program’s ability to develop guards into NBA quality players.
Livingston has enjoyed the time away from the recruiting process and is spending time in the gym and weight room, preparing for a very difficult regular season schedule. He also spent the earlier part of the week at a photo shoot with SLAM magazine. Reggie Livingston said the break has allowed his son to be a “regular kid again”.
But the ‘break’ is over and with the Arizona trip this weekend Livingston is nearing the end. He will make his fourth and final official visit next week when he travels to his home state university – Illinois. Fighting Illini assistant coach Wayne McClain coached at Peoria Manuel and knows the talented point guard. Livingston also played AAU ball with Richard McBride and Brian Randle on the Ft. Sooy No Limit team.
Mr. Livingston said son would make a decision on November 3rd or sometime around that. Many believe Duke is the team to beat right now because North Carolina accepted a verbal commitment from California point guard Quentin Thomas last month.
Stay tuned to RivalsHoops.com for breaking news of his decision.
