Livingston Decision Coming

The top high school playmaker in the country is on the verge of making the biggest play of his young life. Shaun Livingston, the 6-foot-7 point guard from Peoria (IL) Central, will announce his college decision soon. With all of his official visits behind him, Livingston is in the process of weighing all of his options.
Livingston is looking at three schools: Arizona, Duke and Illinois. While fans have theorized where the number two player on the Rivals150 will end up at, Livingston has played his cards very close to his vest. He did briefly elaborate on the three schools.

On Arizona: “The guys were great. Mustafa Shakur and Andre Iguodala were fun to hang out with. Plus I got to play in front of a pretty good sized crowd and sign some autographs. That Arizona jersey they had me wear was a nice touch.”
On Duke: “I really enjoyed my conversations with Coach K. It was pretty relaxed there. I just liked hanging out with the guys like Luol Deng and the rest of the guys. It was very laid back and I liked that.”
On Illinois: “The people came out from all over. That was pretty cool. It was nice seeing the support from everybody. Plus I got to see some people that I grew up with.”
Livingston said he’s considering a number of things both on and off the court. Style of play is important, he said, as is the coaching staff and their relationship with their players. Chemistry with the current players at the school is also important as well as the school’s ability to prepare him for the NBA.
“Right now, I’m just weighing my options and looking at the pros and cons with everything at every school,” Livingston said. “I’m talking to my family and by sometime next week, I should have my decision.”
As the highest player left on the recruiting board that will likely play college ball, Livingston has received his fair share of attention from media, coaches, family and friends. With his decision coming, Livingston said he’s excited to put the recruiting process behind him.
“It will feel pretty good to get everything behind me,” Livingston said. “It’s been a little bit stressful but it’s not too much for me to handle. I think I’ve gotten used to it. But at the same time, I’m ready to do this and move on from there.”
Reggie Livingston told RivalsHoops.com last week that his son will make his decision on November 3 but Shaun said the decision will likely happen a couple of days later. In the meantime, stay tuned to RivalsHoops.com for any breaking news on his decision.
