EMERSON, Ga. – The first of July's three live evaluation periods got off to a flying start on Wednesday night. College coaches were lined from wall to wall of the Champions Center at the Lakepoint Sporting Community.

Future five-star Jalen Suggs from 2020 headlines National Basketball Analyst Eric Bossi's five observations.

RANKINGS: 2018 | 2019

1. 2020 JALEN SUGGS A TRULY ELITE PROSPECT

It wasn't a great shooting night for class of 2020 point guard Jalen Suggs and his Team Sizzle squad lost a heartbreaker late to Texas Hard Work, but the future five-star prospect was arguably the best prospect in the building.

With a blend of explosiveness off the bounce, elusive moves and competitive spirit, everything about Suggs screams big-time prospect. He'll likely land in at least the top five of our initial 2020 rankings at the end of the summer.

Not many head coaches were watching Wednesday, but that will be changing from here on out. Arizona State, Minnesota, Marquette, Iowa State, Georgia Tech and Iowa are among those to offer already.

2. LOUISVILLE SCORED WITH ANFERNEE SIMONS

Louisville head coach Rick Pitino couldn't contain his smile watching Anfernee Simons as he led Team Breakdown to a win over Sports U in a Wednesday night showcase game.

An elusive guard with a big-time jump shot, Simons looks as if he was born to score. He's sneaky athletic, plays with confidence, doesn't get sped up and should be a great fit for the uptempo style that Pitino and the Cardinals love to play.

Simons is already ranked at No. 32, but there's no reason he can't push for another bump in the rankings after the summer.

3. SOUTH CAROLINA DUO SET TO BLOW UP

High school and summer teammates, class of 2019 four-star point guard Josiah James and class of 2018 three-star wing Aaron Nesmith aren't unknowns to college coaches. However, the TMP duo doesn't yet have big national reputations. Based on what they did Wednesday night, that's going to change soon.

A legitimate point guard with 6-foot-6 size, James has the type of size, athleticism and feel for the game that will turn heads as more people become familiar with him. He's already a top 60 player but could easily push for the top 50 and probably even a bit higher. His shot isn't bad and his upside is huge. He's got offers from the College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, Mercer, Tennessee, Clemson, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech and Oklahoma. Look for Florida to jump in soon after head coach Mike White watched on Wednesday night.

Formerly ranked as a four-star in the Rivals150, we dropped Nesmith simply because we didn't have an up-to-date evaluation. We wish we could take that back. He's strong, he's explosive and he's a very dangerous shooter. A big-time student as well, Nesmith now has 25 offers after Texas A&M offered on Wednesday. South Carolina and Virginia Tech are other high-major programs that have offered ,as have several Ivy League programs and a slew of regional mid-majors. Nesmith mentioned South Carolina – where he has been on campus – as the one program that he wants to visit officially at this point.

4. MITCHELL TWINS AND MARVIN PRICE A DANGEROUS 16U GROUP

One of the better – and certainly one of the most physical – 16U teams in the country is the DC Blue Devils, led by four-star trio of twin big men Makhi Mitchell and Makhell Mitchell and scoring wing Marvin Price.

Big and strong, what really stands out about the Mitchell twins is their exceptional hands, soft touch and passing ability. Makhi is more of a scorer at this point while Makhel is the setup guy. They are both maturing into incredibly strong interior players and will become priorities. Look for MarylandMark Turgeon watched – to be among the early frontrunners.

As for Price, he has college level strength and plays with a nasty disposition. He wants to test his opponent's manhood and he has skill to score from the perimeter and at the rim to go with it. Price listed offers from Virginia Tech, Kansas State, Texas A&M, DePaul and Georgia Tech.

5. CLOSING QUICK HITTERS FROM WEDNESDAY NIGHT

We'll close out our Wednesday night coverage from the Under Armour Finals with some rapid fire notices.

Lousiville's Rick Pitino – who coached his father Jamal Mashburn at Kentucky – and Florida's Mike White were among those we spotted watching class of 2020 scoring machine Jamal Mashburn Jr. He doesn't have his father's height, but he is skilled, tough and put it this way, he doesn't hit the floor to not shoot the ball.

In Texas, the class of 2019 is loaded with lots of upper-end mid-major to high-major prospects and smooth 6-foot-6 wing Samuell Williamson is included among the group. He can handle, has a nice shot and already has offers from Rutgers, UNLV, Tulsa, Tulane, UT San Antonio, Incarnate Word and Abilene Christian.

Another Texan, we snuck Jahmius Ramsey into the 2019 rankings at No. 125. That inclusion was a good one. We aren't saying he's as good as Marcus Smart, but the physical, athletic and tough combo guard has some similarities to Smart at the same age. Don't worry about running plays for him, just let him go. Texas A&M was the first high-major offer and Arkansas' Mike Anderson was watching closely on Wednesday.

He's not a finished product, but 2018 Rivals150 wing Emmitt Matthews of Washington Supreme has real upside. He's pushing 6-foot-7, is a fluid athlete and has potential as a slasher who makes enough shots to keep defenses honest. Oregon State, Washington State, Boise State and Washington are among those starting to prioritize him.

Power forward Josh LeBlanc made a huge jump to four-star status in the recent 2018 rankings update and his climb isn't done. He's a big-time athlete who plays above the rim, cleans the glass and is a competitor. LSU and Texas A&M are likely ahead of the field but West Virginia, Arkansas, Alabama and Iowa State are among those trying.

Finally, center Emmanuel Dowuona debuted in the 2018 Rivals150 this week and the inclusion looks warranted. He's big, he's strong and he does the interior dirty work. He listed offers from Purdue, Connecticut, USC, USF, Miami, Florida Gulf Coast, Rutgers, Memphis and Kansas State and said that Virginia, Arkansas and Kansas have inquired.
