Liberty lands talented duo

Coach Ritchie McKay has the Liberty basketball program headed in a positive direction, and he just landed a couple of quality prospects in Chris Perez and Ovie Soko.
Perez, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound shooting guard from Oldsmar (Fla.) Christian High School, led his team to a 24-9 record against a quality schedule, averaging 24 points per game.

"Chris had a good year against maybe the toughest schedule in Florida," said Oldsmar Christian head coach Ryan Pannone. "He's excited about the style of play there and the coaching staff."
Perez also visited Utah State and had strong interest from Northeastern, Fordham and Creighton.
Soko, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound small forward from Newport News (Va.) Bethel High School, is excited about playing for Coach McKay.
"Ritchie McKay, Ritchie McKay is the reason," said Soko's guardian Ed Huckaby. "He has done a fantastic job developing similar guys like Danny Granger. Ovie is a true small forward at 6-foot-8."
