Lewis preparing for second official visit

After leaving Archbishop Rummel High School in Metairie, La., because of Hurricane Katrina, Dwight Lewis wanted nothing more than a fresh start. Lewis, the 6-foot-5, 190-pound shooting guard/small forward has since transferred to Katy High School in Katy, Texas. However, the transition has been more difficult than originally expected.
"I just found out today that Dwight would not be allowed to attend Katy High School," said Dwight Lewis, Sr. "I have not had the chance to tell him the news yet because he is still in school. It sounds like several people from around the district don't like the idea of Dwight being at Katy High School. I get the feeling that some people are more worried about wins and losses. This is not the high schools fault.

"I can tell you that I am going to check on two or three private schools in this area," he added. "I have no problem at all sending Dwight to a private school. It looks like that is the direction we are going to take."
As it stands right now, Lewis and his father are preparing to take an official visit to Southern California later today. While things have been quite crazy for Lewis and his family during the last month, they have still found time to concentrate on the recruiting process.
"The recruiting process for Dwight is still going on," said Lewis. "My son and I are leaving later today for an official visit to Southern California. That is the only visit that we have planned at this time. I do know that Oklahoma and Miami-FL have expressed an interest in bringing Dwight out for a visit. However, nothing else has been scheduled yet."
Dwight Lewis Scouting Report: A very good scorer, Lewis specializes at getting into the midrange area with either hand and hitting the pull up jumper. Has good length for his position but needs to gain strength. -Jerry Meyer
