Lewis not looking to rush decision

After giving a verbal commitment to Kansas back in May, Dwight Lewis has decided to re-open his recruitment. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound shooting guard from Archbishop Rummel High School in Metairie, La., is in the process of scheduling a number of official visits.
"I know that Dwight is looking at quite a few schools," said Dwight Lewis, Sr. "My son has already talked to a number of coaches that have expressed an interest in bringing him on campus for official visits. I believe Dwight has a couple of visits planned, but I do not actually know if the dates are set."

Lewis, the No. 132 ranked player in the class of 2006, gave a commitment to the Kansas Jayhawks shortly after visiting the campus during the weekend of April 30. At the time of the announcement, it appeared that Lewis was committed to attending KU after graduation, but that is no longer the case.
"USC, Oklahoma and Miami-FL are just some of the schools that Dwight is interested in right now," said Dwight Lewis, Sr. "There is a chance that he could visit each of those schools in the fall. I can tell you that Dwight plans to use the remainder of his four official visits.
"After talking to Dwight, I get the feeling that he wants to take his time with the recruiting process this time around," he added. "Kansas is definitely still in the mix, but my son just wants to take some visits. When Dwight is ready to make a decision, he wants to be 100 percent certain that he made the correct choice."
Dwight Lewis Scouting Report: A very good scorer, Lewis specializes at getting into the midrange area with either hand and hitting the pull up jumper. Has good length for his position but needs to gain strength. -Jerry Meyer
