Lewis backs out of KU commitment

After giving a commitment to the University of Kansas back in May, Dwight Lewis has decided to re-open his recruitment. Dwight Lewis, Sr., indicated that his son plans to reconsider all of his options and then make a final decision about his future.
"Yes, Dwight has decided to back out of his commitment to Kansas and plans to re-open his recruitment, said Dwight Lewis, Sr. "It's just something that came up recently, but it's a decision that he has made.

"Kansas is definitely still an option for Dwight, and the offer from the coaching staff is still on the table," he added. "Dwight just thought that it would be best to take a look at all of his options and then make a decision. I can't talk about any schools at this time that Dwight might consider, but if you call back next week, I will have some additional information for you."
Prior to giving a commitment to Kansas, Lewis had been receiving interest from the likes of Florida, LSU, Oklahoma, Southern California and others.
Dwight Lewis Scouting Report: A very good scorer, Lewis specializes at getting into the midrange area with either hand and hitting the pull up jumper. Has good length for his position but needs to gain strength.
