Levy Jones Back At Juco

Levy Jones, a 6-11, 245 pound center from Minneapolis Community and Technical College in Minneapolis, MN, will not be able to join the Southern Illinois roster this semester because he did not satisfy the academic requirements needed for him to transfer to SIU.
Jones, who had committed to Oklahoma State last winter only to see that scholarship offer pulled off the table, had signed a national letter of intent with the Salukis this past spring. He had also seen interest last spring from Pittsburgh, New Mexico, Albany, Florida International, Eastern Washington and Northern Iowa.

Jones did not graduate from MCTC this summer as planned and has enrolled there for the fall semester. He averaged 13.3 ppg, 7.1 rpg and 4.3 bpg last season for the Marauders and shot 59.0 percent from the field and 70.3 percent from the free throw line.
Jones graduated from Minneapolis North High School. He signed with South Carolina State out of high school but redshirted his first year at SCS and played sparingly as a redshirt freshman in the 2000-01 season. He transferred to MCTC last year.
