Leuer attracting attention

Jon Leuer steadily raised his stock this spring, and the 6-foot-10, 195-pound power forward from Orono (Minn.) High School has two high-major offers to show for it.
Washington State and Iowa State, who offered after Leuer's performance at their elite camp, are the two schools on his list who have offered.

"I'm interested in Iowa State, Kansas, Wake Forest, Purdue, Minnesota, Washington State, Illinois and Indiana," said Leuer. "At the end of the summer, I'll narrow it down and figure out who I will visit."
With a number of schools in the Midwest and others stretching from coast to coast recruiting the hot prospect, Leuer is open to attending school anywhere in the country.
"I'm looking to bond with a coaching staff and get along with the players," he said. "Location is not an issue as long as the school has tradition and nice facilities."
Despite his highly skilled game, Leuer realizes that he must get stronger to play at the high-major level.
"I need to work on my strength the most," he said. "I also need to get quicker laterally on defense."
Leuer, who averaged 30 points and 10 rebounds per game during his junior season, will participate in the Reebok ABCD Camp in early July.
