Leon Powe Has Top School

Leon Powe, a 6-9, 232-pound forward from Oakland Tech in California, is one of the top ten players in the class of 2003. Powe was one of the players that stood out to Rivalshoops.com this past summer when we watched him.
Mike Sullivan and Russ Blake both had a chance to watch him display his skills during the summer AAU sessions. Last year as a sophomore Powe averaged 25 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks.

He is a very active player inside and makes an impact on both ends of the court. Powe showed some of that impact last night at the City of Palms tournament in Fort Myers, Florida.
Powe scored 27 points to lead his team to victory. Powe spoke to reporter Dean Gant after the game and told Rivalshoops.com that his list includes Duke, California, Arizona, Kentucky, North Carolina, UNLV, Kansas, and several other schools.
A player of his size will likely get a serious look by NBA scouts down the road. Powe also told Rivalshoops.com that the school that has the lead is Duke since he likes the Blue Devils the best.
Presently, Powe has no unofficial visits scheduled. But remember, juniors can begin taking official visits after the 1st of next year.
