Lee Hoping for Big Year

Carl Lee, a blue collar 6-6, 213 pound power forward from Fresno City College in Fresno, Calif., is one of the better sophomores in the California JC ranks.
A lot of people might have forgotten about Lee, who last played at Fresno City in 2000-2001. He sat out last year to focus on academics at Fresno City, but he told Rivalshoops.com in a recent interview that he is raring to go this winter.

Lee mentioned San Jose State and Northeastern as two programs who are showing early interest in him this fall.
While Newtown H.S. in Queens, N.Y., was at one time known as the home of Charlie Villanueva and William "Smush" Parker, it was also the former stomping grounds of Lee as well.
In addition to being a stalwart for Pat Torney's squad at Newtown, Carl also did double duty for the Riverside Church program in the spring and summer. In fact, he played quite well at the 2000 BET/D.C. Pro Am for Riverside. He was expected to enroll at Milford Academy in Connecticut that fall.
For whatever reason, Lee and fellow New York native Will Frisby (now at Miami-FL) wound up enrolling at Fresno City in the fall of 2000. He averaged a double-double as a freshman for the Rams that season.
This past summer, Lee said he played with the Cash Money squad at Rucker Park. He is hoping for a big sophomore campaign at FCC to generate interest from other programs.
Rivalshoops.com will keep you abreast on Lee's situation in the months to come, so stay tuned.
