LeBron James Best In 2003

In our first look at the class of 2003, one player stands above them all -- LeBron James, a 6-7 combo guard from St. Vincent/St. Mary's High School of Akron, Ohio.
James, called the best high school player he's seen by legendary head coach Steve Smith of Oak Hill Academy, was a clear-cut winner in our polling of media members, assistant coaches, and head coaches.

James, a terrific passer who can completely dominate a game offensively, is likely to jump from high school to the NBA. In fact, the sneaker companies are already battling for position to land him to a huge contract once he finishes up high school.
So why recruit him? Well, you just have to in case James wants a taste of playing college basketball. Maybe if he takes in an NBA game or two, he might realize how boring playing professional basketball can be?
Of course, rivalshoops.com is kidding when we make that reference. James is one of the few players worth the price of admission and still worth recruiting at this stage of his high school career. Who is he interested in? Well, James has mentioned interest in Duke, North Carolina, Florida, Michigan State, Louisville, and Ohio State.
In the future weeks, we will be highlighting our top 25 players right here in this category on rivalshoops.com
