Leader emerges for McLaughlin

Once committed to Washington State, four-star prospect Mark McLaughlin still has the Cougars in his top three, but a new school has emerged as the leader for the 6-foot-5, 175-pound shooting guard from Kenmore (Wash.) Inglemoor High School.
"Nevada is recruiting me the hardest, and they are my favorite," said McLaughlin. "I have family in Reno. My dad and some aunts and uncles live there. And I have a great relationship with the coaches."

Along with Nevada and Washington State, California is also on McLaughlin's list.
"Cal just started recruiting me," he said. "I really like their coaches, too. They haven't offered yet but I'd expect that to happen."
Already having visited Washington State, McLaughlin is set on visiting Nevada before he makes another commitment.
"I haven't set up the visit yet, but I'll probably visit Nevada in late September," he said. "I'm not sure if I'll visit Cal. But I'm not making a decision before I visit Nevada."
McLaughlin is the No. 86 ranked prospect in the Rivals150.
Mark McLaughlin scouting report:
A wiry athlete, McLaughlin has a crafty game to go along with his impressive length for the shooting gaurd position. McLaughlin is at his best in the midrange where he shoots the ball well off the dribble and can distribute with the pass. He needs to get stronger but uses his length effectively on the defensive end.
