Lawrence receives scholarship offer from Arkansas

The last few days could not have been any better for
Marcus Lawrence. Not only did the 6-foot-0, 165-pound point guard from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nev., receive a scholarship offer from one of the top schools on his list, but a head coach from another school Lawrence is extremely interested in also stopped by the gym on Monday to watch him play.

"Coach (Mark) Few from Gonzaga came to my game on Monday," Lawrence said. "Arkansas offered me a scholarship, and Oklahoma State is really starting to recruit me pretty hard. I am still wide-open at this stage of my recruitment, but a lot of schools are beginning to show an increased interest."
Lawrence, the No. 64 ranked player in the class of 2006, is also being recruited by the likes of California, Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego St., UCLA and UNLV.
While Lawrence is still in the beginning stages of his recruitment, it does appear that three schools in particular will receive official visits from the No. 14 ranked point guard in his class.
"I plan to take official visits to Arkansas, Gonzaga and California," Lawrence said. "Those are the three schools that I definitely plan to visit. As far as my final two visits go, I really have not decided what schools to visit. I think a lot of that will depend on what new schools start recruiting me later on."
