Lawrence in no rush to decide

After taking an official visit to Oregon State at the beginning of May, Marcus Lawrence is looking forward to participating in the AAU summer circuit before taking some additional visits in the fall. The 6-foot-0, 165-pound point guard from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nev., doesn't yet know if he will use the remainder of his four official visits.
"Things have been going good for me so far this spring," said Lawrence. "I have received scholarship offers from Arizona State, Virginia Tech, Oregon State, UNLV, San Diego State, Minnesota, Arkansas and a few others.

"I took an official visit to Oregon State a couple of weeks ago," he added. "I had a great time during the visit. I am a city boy and I am not used to seeing all of the green grass that I saw during my visit. It was a great experience."
Aside from the aforementioned programs, Lawrence is also receiving quite a bit of interest from Gonzaga and Washington. While he has yet to receive scholarship offers from either program, Lawrence intends to visit both schools in the fall.
"I really don't know if I will need to take all five official visits," said Lawrence. "I do know that I will visit Gonzaga and Washington in the fall. If I am ready to commit after those visits, I will do just that. If not, I will take another visit or two.
"I have already taken a visit to Oregon State," he added. "After I take visits to Gonzaga and Washington, there is a chance that I might be ready to decide on a school. Once I am done playing basketball at the end of the summer, I will start to make some decisions about when to visit some of the schools on my list."
