Lavender Lights It Up At Showcase

You just have to love the style of Andrew Lavender. Despite being just 5-7, he has no fear about taking over a game and leading his team to victory. Lavender did so last night in the first round of playoff action. He helped his All Ohio team erase a big deficit and grab an exciting win over the New York Gauchos. Lavender scored 27 points and hit shots from all over the floor.
"It was an exciting win," Lavender said. "We have to get the next one too."

Many schools are now finding it hard not to recruit Lavender. Most would prefer to look the other way because of his size. But size doesn't matter here. Lavender is just a great player.
Lavender, who finished as the Peach Jam's leading scorer, poured in 27 points, 5 assists and 3 steals in the championship tilt, Lavender has the ability to slice into the lane against big bodies and score. He is also a terrific passer off penetration.
Lavender told Rivalshoops.com that he has been offered scholarships by Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Marquette and Ole Miss. North Carolina watched him hard yesterday.
Lavender will finish the summer with Jerry Watson's All-Ohio Red program at the AAU Nationals in Florida.
