Lavender Cuts List To 5

Andrew Lavender, a 5-7, 155 pound point guard from Brookhaven H.S. in Columbus, Ohio, said his official visits will most likely result in a college decision.
Lavender, who had just returned from winning the 3-on-3 tournament in Finley, OH, has cut his list to five schools. "They are Oklahoma, Marquette, Pittsburgh, Clemson and Ole Miss," he said. "I'll be official visiting four schools in September and one in October. The only date that's set is September 14th at Oklahoma."

Other schools recruiting Lavender include Cincinnati, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Rutgers and Seton Hall.
RivalsHoops.com's number 82 player in the class of 2003 could make a decision during the visit if everything fits. "I want to go to place where I can play," he said. "It's got to have a nice campus. It doesn't matter if the school is currently winning. I've always won and expect to continue to in college."
And he repeated that he and his Brookhaven and All-Ohio AAU teammate, Brandon Foust, will be a "package deal" for one program.
Lavender averaged 12 points and 11 assists per game as a junior last season leading Brookhaven to the state championship. He has around a 3.0 GPA with 2.6 in his core courses. He got 15 on the ACT the first time and is retaking the test on September 28th.
Lavender has an AAU tournament coming up in early September - the All-Nike tournament in Columbus, OH. Then it will be getting ready for the high school season. "We should be strong again this year," he noted. "We lost two guys but we have three starters coming back."
