Lavender: Come Get Me

Super quick point guard Andrew Lavender has a simple message regarding his recruiting process -- "I'm wide open..."
Yes he is. Lavender told us this after leading his team past Michael Nardi and the talented New Jersey Celtics this afternoon at the Super Showcase.

"I think after the Peach Jam a lot of schools got interested in me," Lavender said. "So I have to see who is serious when I get back from this event."
Lavender, who finished as the Peach Jam's leading scorer, poured in 27 points, 5 assists and 3 steals in the championship tilt. Even though he's small, Lavender has the ability to slice into the lane against big bodies and score. He is also a terrific passer off penetration.
Lavender told Rivalshoops.com that he has been offered scholarships by Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Marquette and Ole Miss. "I don't have a leader right now," Lavender said. "I do want to take some visits in the Fall before I decide." Cincinnati has also called Lavender.
Lavender will finish the summer with Jerry Watson's All-Ohio Red program at the AAU Nationals in Florida. "I am looking forward to the rest of the summer," Lavender said. "It's fun to play against great competition."
