With multiple sources close to his recruitment believing that Goodwin would wait it out till the spring and even take some more visits, Goodwin has signed his Letter-of-Intent with Memphis on the last day of the early signing period.
A long athlete, Goodwin will fit perfectly into Memphis' up-tempo style of play.
One has to wonder if the impressive showing by Memphis and the poor showing by UCLA Tuesday on national television played a part in his decision to go ahead and sign.
Tracking Jefferson
Four-star forward Amile Jefferson of Philadelphia (Pa.) Friends Central School, attended Villanova's overtime win over LaSalle last night. Sources out of Philadelphia feel it will be very difficult for Jefferson to pick a school in time to sign today.
Pelle open
According to sources from Malvern (Pa.) Phelps High School, Norvel Pelle will not enroll at St. John's between semesters. In addition, Pelle is opening up his recruitment as a 2012 prospect.
San Diego State is considered a major factor now in the recruitment of Pelle, who is originally from Compton, California.
Stokes decision
Five-star forward Jarnell Stokes of Memphis (Tenn.) Southwind High School has relayed to Rivals.com that there is still a possibility he will sign today. But he also said he wished he could figure out a way to play for all five of his finalist- Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Memphis and Tennessee.
Additional Schocker
Wichita State came up with a big time late edition to its 2012 recruiting class on Wednesday. Three-star power forward Deontae Hawkins of Dayton (Ohio) Dunbar High School signed with the Shockers, making a strong recruiting class even stronger.
