Larry Turner Update

Larry Turner, a 6-11 center from Bridgton Academy in N. Bridgton, Me., is still working on achieving a qualifying test score so that he can attend Georgia next fall.
Turner arrived at Bridgton in January, and is starting to find his niche with the Wolverines program.

"He's doing some things better," Lesure said. "It's really a matter of consistency with Larry. Now he's on the right type of team."
The dynamics of Bridgton's team changed quite a bit last week when Lesure dismissed David Teague and Chris White from school for disciplinary reasons. Teague was the Wolverines' leading scorer, and with him out of the lineup, the ball is being spread around more evenly.
That means more touches for Turner and the other Bridgton big men. Turner pumped in 12 points on Sunday in the Wolverines' 68-62 victory over Army Prep.
A player blessed with a terrific frame and mobility, Turner first came to the attention of the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com with Norman Parker's Georgia Stars program.
As a student at Baldwin H.S. in Milledgeville, Ga., Turner signed with Georgia in the fall of 2000 but failed to qualify academically. He sat out this past fall before enrolling at Bridgton in January.
Lesure said that Turner will be able to take the test untimed due to a learning disability.
IR will keep you posted on Turner's academic progress in the coming months, so stay tuned.
