Langfords Younger Brother Could Wait

Kevin Langford, the lanky 6-foot-8, 230-pound power forward from North Crowley High School in Fort Worth, Tex., thought he'd be close to a decision by now. But recent events with several of the schools on his list have caused a situation where Langford could be sitting on signing for a while longer.
"Right now he's leaning towards signing in the spring," said North Crowley head coach Tommy Brakel. "He had been waiting on an official offer from Stanford, but they took a commitment from someone on the West Coast so they called to say that they weren't going to offer."

While Langford had been awaiting Stanford's call, there were changes going on at the other schools on his list.
"Meanwhile, Georgia Tech and Virginia took commitments too, so some doors kind of closed," said Brakel. "He told TCU and Houston, who had both offered, that he was going to play out his senior year and see what happens in the spring."
While Langford has put all those schools on hold, some new colleges have recently jumped into the mix.
"Cal-Berkeley has gotten interested, which is good since they're a rival of Stanford," said Brakel. "They are trying to get him to come out for a visit before the fall period is over. Also, I've gotten some calls from DePaul."
He is the younger brother of Kansas's Keith Langford.
Brakel noted that if something develops with Cal, there may be a possibility that Langford does sign in the fall. But otherwise, he will wait until the spring. Be sure to stay tuned to RivalsHoops.com for the latest in Langford's developing situation.
