Langford Talks About Decision

A few hours before returning home from his official visit to California, Kevin Langford gave a commitment to Ben Braun and the California Golden Bears. The 6-foot-19, 225-pound power forward had originally planned to take one final official visit to Seton Hall next weekend, but after spending the weekend in California, that visit will no longer take place.
“I gave a commitment to California on the last day of my visit,” Langford said. “I went to the Arizona State game on Saturday and just loved everything about the visit. California needs the type of player that can be a compliment to Leon Powe, so they feel that I might be that player.

“I was scheduled to visit Seton Hall next weekend, but I have decided to cancel that visit,” he added. “Purdue was another school that I was interested in, but I just feel that California is the best fit for me.”
Coach Braun made several trips to Texas in order to get a better look at Langford’s on the court abilities.
“Coach Braun came out and saw Kevin play a lot,” Langford’s mother, Charlene Taylor said. “Kevin really likes Coach Braun and the system they run at California. He will have the opportunity to play the power forward spot, but he will also step out and play some on the perimeter.
“I was really impressed with the way Coach Braun and California recruited Kevin,” she added.
