The recruitment for the 6-foot-10, 300-pound Birmingham, Alabama native has turned into a two-team battle between Alabama and Louisville.
“I don’t really have a favorite right now,” Lang told RivalsHoops.com late Thursday afternoon. “This is going to be hard. Last year I didn’t have this much attention. I go back and forth.”
The Tide remains the team to beat for Lang’s signature. “I like the Alabama staff and their style of play,” he said. “It’s close to home – one hour – and my mom wants to be able to see me play. I grew up a ‘Bama fan, but I’m going to have to put that aside when I make my decision and do what is best for me.”
Coach Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals have made up ground in the hunt for the Rivals.com five star center. “They have a young team and a great conditioning program,” he said. “Their campus is nice.”
Lang isn’t expected to drag out the recruiting process. “I plan on making my decision soon,” he said. “I’m confused now, but I’m going to figure it out and decide before the summer is over.”
Along with the Tide and Cardinals, Lang said that he was also giving consideration to Memphis, Purdue and UAB. Lang, who is 17 years old, has taken numerous unofficial visits to Alabama. He has also visited Louisville and UAB.
