Landry Headed To Wisconsin

When it came time for Marcus Landry to make a decision about his future, he knew that Wisconsin was the perfect fit. The 6-foot-7, 205-pound power forward from Vincent High School in Milwaukee, Wis., gave a commitment to the Badgers last week because of feelings for the program and, more importantly, because of his familiarity with the entire community.
“Yes, Marcus has given a verbal commitment to Wisconsin,” Mr. Landry said. “He made the announcement last Friday during a press conference. I think he made this decision for several reasons, one being the pressures involved with the recruiting process. I just think that Marcus was ready to make a decision.”

Aside from Wisconsin, Landry was receiving interest from the likes of Illinois, Marquette, Purdue, Iowa and Wisconsin-Milw. It should come as no surprise that the Wisconsin native decided to stay close to home. Landry is extremely familiar with the surrounding community and has a great feel for the Wisconsin coaching staff, the players and the campus life.
“Marcus has been to Wisconsin for several unofficial visits,” Mr. Landry said. “I have also been to the campus several times for basketball games. Marcus is very familiar with Wisconsin and knows quite a bit about the program. I think that’s one of the reasons he made this decision. The fact that he is familiar with the school played a role in his decision.”
