Lambert Needs To Lift Play

For whatever reason, Ryan Lambert didn't have a great weekend at the War on the Shore. A live bodied athlete, he played aggressively in the Tigers' 69-43 loss to St. Thomas More two weekends ago, tallying eight points and grabbing nine rebounds.
Colonial Athletic Association programs are all over Lambert, and with some strong performances this winter, that list could grow quite a bit. Lambert, a bouncy 6-7, 198 pound power/combination forward from Germantown, Md. and now part of the Hargrave Military Academy basketball program, is a fifth-year senior this fall. Last year, Ryan attended Northwest H.S. in Germantown after leaving Stu Vetter's Montrose Christian program.

Lambert enjoyed a terrific week at the Nike Peach Jam Invitational last July, where he suited up for Rob Jackson's D.C. Blue Devils program. He's a mobile athlete with a penchant for making good things happen on the offensive glass.
Even though coaches caught just a glimpse of Lambert in July, his play was enough to generate offers from six colleges -- West Virginia, St. Louis, George Mason, South Alabama, the College of Charleston and Binghamton. In high school and on the AAU circuit, Lambert has been effective as a power forward, but he realizes that the key to his future success will be playing the three slot. This is what Lambert is working on this season under Mike Preston. If he accomplishes these goals, he is likely to receive some high major offers.
