Lamar Harris Signs

Lamar Harris, a 6-8, 200 pound power forward from Compton C.C. in Compton, Calif., has signed a national letter of intent with Colorado.
JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com confirmed this signing with Compton Head Coach Damaine Powell.

"Lamar is very good at offensive rebounding, and he can really run the floor and block shots," Powell said. "He has a nice right handed hook, but needs to work on his jumper from 14 feet and out. He has a live body and is very active."
Harris picked Colorado over Arizona State. Back in the winter, he had interest from programs like San Francisco, UTEP, Wisconsin, Cal-State Fullerton, Cal-State Northridge and San Jose State.
Harris impressed JUCO Junction at a pair of events in the past year -- the 2001 California Fall JUCO Showcase and Modesto Holiday Classic.
Harris averaged 17 points, nine rebounds and three blocks per game this past season at Compton in just his second year of organized basketball.
