Lafayette gets big man

Three-star big man Seyi Oseni was on the rise as a high-major prospect last year until he suffered a minor knee injury that unfortunately kept Oseni out of action over the summer and will keep him out for the entire season. Yet Oseni, 6-foot-9, 240-pounds from Rochester, N.Y., and attending Faith Christian (Va.) Academy has verbally committed to a mid-major program that is on the rise.
"I verbally committed to Louisiana-Lafayette," said Oseni. "I feel strong and good about the decision.

"I have been under the radar for a long time because of my knee injury. I hurt it last season, and it was not a bad injury. So I tried to just rehab it without surgery, but it didn't get better. I missed the entire summer and couldn't play with Syracuse Rochester RAP and then had it scoped the beginning of November and will miss the entire season."
Before the injury Oseni was getting interest from the likes of Michigan, Miami, South Carolina, Georgia and Penn State as he put up 16 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks and 4 assists per game his junior season. At the time of his commitment, Oseni also had offers from East Carolina, George Mason and MTSU.
A mobile big man who can also step out and knock down the mid-range jumper, Oseni is certainly ready to get back on the court and work on his game.
"The first thing I want to do when I get back out there is work on getting in shape," he said. "I will keep lifting weights, and I really want to work on my left hand and get evenly handed."
After nearly missing out on coveted post player Kenneth Cooper, Louisiana-Lafayette now has their big man.
