Patience and changing the way he plays the game are two things Chris Kupets hopes can help him get to the level he wants to get to next year in college. The unsigned senior from Cedar Shoals High School in Athens, Ga., is having a fine senior campaign this year and he's starting to see the rewards of his changes.

Kupets scored 27 points and handed out seven assists in a big region win on Saturday. He was clutch from the foul line, knocking down nine of 10 attempts from the charity stripe.
Kupets said he is looking at the game differently this season and become more of a leader on the hardwood.
"I've turned my attitude around and I've become more of a point guard," Kupets said. "I'm just growing up and trying to get my teammates more involved this year. Last year, I only averaged about three assists. This year I'm averaging about seven."
Kupets is also scoring more, going from 23 points as a junior to 26 as a senior. More importantly, he has Cedar Shoals (19-1) playing some of the best basketball in Georgia this season.
Because of his strong season, Kupets said he is starting to see a change in his recruitment. At the beginning of the year, low-majors were keeping tabs on him. Charleston Southern has been by to see him this season. Kupets said he has heard from a handful of programs of late, including Florida State, Kansas State and Cincinnati. Prep school is also an option.
"If I don't sign with anyone, then I'll probably go," Kupets, a full qualifier, said.
Prep school isn't the end goal, he said.
"My whole life I've dreamed of going to a high level Division I school. I really think I can sign with someone like that," Kupets said. "I'd be real happy if I did that. I just want to play."
