Kravic Clears Up Rumor

Despite rumblings that Dragutin Kravic from The Dwight School was wavering on his verbal commitment to American University, the sweet-shooting Serbian is set with his college choice.
"I am going to American for sure," said Kravic.

Kravic, a 6-8, 200-pound perimeter player who averaged 28 points and 14 rebounds this past season for coach Alex Kiprovski, chose the Patriot League program over Columbia, Princeton, and Cornell. Other schools who had previously expressed interest included
Lafayette, Bucknell, Rider, St. Francis(NY), Buffalo, William and Mary, Penn, and Brown. Rider and St. Francis had offered.
Kravic cited a number of reasons for his choice. "I like the school's location, and I like the basketball program," said Kravic. "It's coming up and is going to improve over the next couple of years.
"It is also a very good school, very strong academically."
Kravic has the physical tools and skills to excel in the Patriot League, but how big of a contributor he becomes will likely hinge on the level of intensity he can muster. His level of play tapered off toward the tail end of the season, perhaps because he missed the second half of his junior season with a foot injury.
Kravic is comfortable shooting the ball out past the arc, and sports a developing mid-range game. Kravic is a typical European in the sense that he sometimes shies away from physical contact and is much more of a finesse player than a banger.
"Goggy" will have to add some bulk to his 200 lb frame to compete at the Division I level, but he looks as if he could fill out a bit. In all likelihood, Kravic will slide into the void left by Swiss wing Vladimir Buscaglia at American, who served as a
perimeter threat for Jeff Jones' club this season.
Kravic is an excellent student who carries a 92.8 GPA and has scored 1020 on the SAT. He is a great kid and a nice catch for this year's regular season Patriot League champions.
