Kouyate Will Sign Early

Alassane Kouyate, a 6-8, 218 pound combo/power forward from Walsh Jesuit High School in the Cleveland area, wants to make an early decision, his guardian, Bob Kelly, said Sunday night.
Kouyate told Rivals Hoops last week that his top schools were Duquesne and Massachusetts. There have been reports that a decision would be announced Monday. Mr. Kelly said he didn't know if that would happen. "He does want to get it done by Wednesday (last day of the early signing period)", Kelly noted.

The native of Mali officially visited both schools as well as Marshall and East Carolina. He also was considering Florida State, Kansas State and Miami (FL).
He averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds as a junior last season. Kouyate, who was studying when we called, carries a 3.0 GPA and scored 890 the first time he took the SAT.
Mr. Kelly also cleared up a confusion over this young man's name. His legal name is Lassana Kouyate; Alassane is his nickname.
