Khavon Moore leads busy recruitment

Khavon Moore has been one of the more highly recruited prospects in the 2018 class so far. As the No. 8 prospect in his class, he’s collected offers from top programs all over the country.

Most recently, he’s taken visits to Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Kentucky. N.C. State, Providence and Tennessee have jumped into the mix as well lately with the talented 6-foot-8 prospect with point forward capability.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Moore recapped his recent visits and what stands out most about those schools.

Auburn: “It’s pretty nice over there. Coach Pearl has told me that I’m a really good player and he’ll put the ball in my hands if I go there.”

Georgia: “It went pretty well. I just went up there to watch them practice. That wasn’t my first time seeing them practice. I’ve been up there a few times. Their coaches just told me how much it would mean for me to stay home and pick Georgia.”

Georgia Tech: “Their new coaching staff is really good. They just need to get some better players. They pretty much say the same thing Georgia’s coaches have been telling me.”

Kentucky: “I watched them practice too. I think they have really good coaches. They put a lot on their players. Coach Calipari is really hard on his players. They came to see me on the first day of the recruiting period, but they haven’t offered yet.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

Moore has probably taken as many unofficial visits as any prospect in his class - look for that to continue over the next year. He’s trying to collect as much information on each school to make the best possible decision. He said he hopes to make his college choice around this time next year.

RIVALS' REACTION

Auburn and Georgia have had the five-star prospect on campus more than any of the other programs involved in his recruitment. Georgia Tech won’t go down without a fight in this one with Josh Pastner now leading the way for the Yellow Jackets. If Kentucky ever offers Moore, that will be a tough one for him to turn down.
