Kevin Reed Can Score In Bunches

MONTVILLE, CONNECTICUT -- The New Hampton team was stunned right off the opening tip. After a long bus ride, New Hampton could hardly catch its breath before Kevin Reed, a 6-3, 190 pound shooting guard from the St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn., has inflicted some heavy damage from the perimeter.
In the first six and a half minutes, Reed scored 11 points, including three long range three-pointers. St. Thomas More quickly grabbed a 16-8 lead. Reed's first half output, 20 points in all, set the tone for St. Thomas More to knock off a very talented New Hampton Prep program. Reed scored four more points in the second half but he took a backseat because other players from STM provided the offense.

"That's what he does best, he can score points in bunches," St. Thomas More head coach Jere Quinn said. "He has done that a lot this season."
According to Quinn, Reed is now being looked at by Robert Morris, St. Peter's, Maine and James Madison. But remember, St. Peter's just took a commitment from Keydren Clark, another guard.
Blessed with a sturdy frame, Reed is a proficient catch and shoot three point specialist who loves to pop off screens. A native of the Cape Cod area in Massachusetts, Reed had played in the past with Vin Pastore's Mass Wildcat program.
Reed has several MAAC schools on hand to watch him last night, including Manhattan, Rider, Siena, and Marist. After his first half performance, one had to think some of these coaches walked away impressed.
