Kevin Keatts Helps Marshall In Recruiting

Marshall Asst. Coach Kevin Keatts spent several years manning the sidelines at Hargrave Military Academy as both an assistant and head coach, so it came as little surprise this fall when he reached back into the southern Virginia prep power and snatched out two players from this year's Tiger squad.
Marshall has signed a pair of forwards from this year's Hargrave squad in 6-7 Robert Strickland of Chesapeake, Va., and 6-9 Renardo Dixon of Houston, Tex.

Strickland, a live-bodied 197 pound forward, is a player whom the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com first became aware of on the AAU circuit with Boo Williams' program.
Blessed with long arms and bouncy leaping ability, Strickland is a terrific finisher on the offensive glass and plays bigger than his size. While he has a limited offensive game in terms of facing the basket, Strickland can block shots and wreak havoc on the offensive glass.
Dixon is more of a mystery man at this stage, as he did not make the trip up to Philadelphia to play with Hargrave in its recent 105-100 victory over Celestial Prep. A lanky 180 pounder, Dixon was back at Hargrave tending to academic matters, Hargrave Head Coach Mike Preston said.
Both Dixon and Strickland are working on getting qualifying test scores so that they can be eligible at Marshall next fall.
The Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com will catch Hargrave in action later this season, and we will provide progress reports on both Dixon and Strickland at that time.
