Kentucky nabs top five big man

RANKINGS: 2015 - 2016 - 2017
One of the biggest remaining dominoes of the 2015 class fell on Thursday night when five-star big man Skal Labissiere announced his commitment.

A 6-foot-11 big man at Memphis (Tennessee) Lausanne who ranks No. 4 in the class of 2015, Labissiere picked John Calipari during an ESPNU telecast.
"Next year I'll be a Wildcat at the University of Kentucky," said Labissiere on ESPNU. "Since my freshman year I always wanted to go there. I've watched Coach Cal on TV with his teams and
Anthony Davis and Nerlens Noel. That's why I worked so hard on my academics and on the court because I wanted to go there."
The addition of Labissiere is the latest in a long line of high end commitments for Calipari and the Wildcats and he brings a lot to the table.
Thin and fluid, Labissiere is a skilled big man who likes to play facing the hoop. He is a very good mid range jump shooter, can take other big men off the dribble and while he lacks bulk in the post his ability to make jump hooks with either hand and outstanding footwork make him tough to stop near the hoop.
Because of his lack of bulk, Labissiere will have to get stronger and he will be in a unique situation as a senior. Ineligible at Lausanne due to transfer rules, the plan is currently for him to travel and play with what is essentially a club team called Reach Your Dreams Prep that has been started by his legal guardian Gerald Hamilton.
Labissiere is the Wildcats second commit from the class of 2015. He joins four-star shooting guard Charles Matthews, the No. 57 player in the class of 2015.
